Black Strap Mai Tai

Pack some complex flavors into a simple evening with friends. This mai tai cocktail is topped with a heavier black strap rum, giving it an added richness.

ingredients and how to craft

You will need

  • 2 Cruzan® Aged Light Rum
  • 0.5 DeKuyper® Orange Curacao or Triple Sec Liqueur
  • 0.5 Orgeat Syrup
  • 0.25 Simple Syrup
  • 1 Fresh Lime Juice
  • Float Cruzan® Black Strap Rum
  • Garnish: Pineapple Slice or Mint Sprig

Put it all together

Combine all ingredients (except Cruzan® Black Strap Rum and the garnish) into a shaker and add ice. Shake until well chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass over fresh ice. Float the Cruzan® Black Strap Rum on top. Garnish with a pineapple slice or mint sprig.
